Breast reconstruction with implants

Due to the fear of breast cancer, more women are opting for a total mastectomy with implant reconstruction. We must first remember that clear, effective communication between the OBGYN, psychologist, other surgeons, and the patient is extremely important to explain and understand the conditions in which this procedure will be performed.

In very specific cases the procedure along with the reconstruction can be performed simultaneously. The reconstructive part must be performed by the plastic surgeon due to the high risk of implant exposure, even so, this surgery involves many risks that must be discussed with the plastic surgeon.
